Bringing Transparency and Accountability to Justice System Technology

Our Mission

The Justice Technology Transparency Project works to ensure that technologies used in the criminal legal system are transparent, explainable, and accountable, protecting constitutional rights and due process through research, policy advocacy, and public education.

Our Current Initiatives

Outreach

Our outreach program aims to educate communities on their legal rights and the tools available to access justice, breaking down barriers that prevent individuals from seeking support.

Training

We provide training sessions for advocates and community leaders, equipping them with the skills needed to utilize technology effectively and advocate for justice reform in their areas.

Research

Through extensive research, we analyze the challenges faced within justice systems and develop evidence-based solutions that can inform policy changes and improve practices.

Advocacy

Our advocacy efforts focus on raising awareness about injustices and mobilizing community members to participate in campaigns that demand accountability and reform from authorities.

Technology

We integrate innovative technology in our initiatives, enhancing accessibility to legal information and support for those in need while making the justice system more transparent.

Fundraising

Our fundraising initiatives create vital resources necessary for sustaining our programs and ensuring that we can continue to support those who seek justice and fairness.

"Why this matters"

Across the United States, technology is increasingly used to influence decisions about bail, sentencing, surveillance, and policing. Many of these tools are proprietary, unregulated, and hidden from public scrutiny—raising serious constitutional and civil rights concerns.

The Justice Technology Transparency Project exists to ensure that technology in the justice system serves the public interest, not secrecy or bias.
